A Private Tour of Chefchaouen, the Blue City
Founded in 1471 in the Rif Mountains, Chefchaouen is famous for its blue-washed lanes and calm pace. With a private guide and the right timing, it becomes one of the most memorable stops on a luxury tour of Morocco.

Why visit Chefchaouen privately
The blue medina is small but busy at midday. A private guide takes you through the quiet upper lanes early in the morning or late in the afternoon, when the light is softest and the streets belong to the residents.
Things to do
- Walk the blue lanes of the medina with a local guide
- Visit the kasbah and its garden on the main square, Outa el Hammam
- Watch the sunset over the town from the Spanish Mosque viewpoint
- Hike to the Akchour waterfalls in the Talassemtane National Park
- Meet weavers and artisans in their workshops
How to get there
Chefchaouen is about two hours by car from Tangier and three and a half to four hours from Fes. On our luxury tours a private chauffeur-guide drives you, so the journey through the Rif becomes part of the experience.
How long to stay
One night is enough to enjoy the town at its quietest, in the evening and early morning. Two nights let you add the Akchour waterfalls or a walk in the Rif.
Chefchaouen in a Morocco luxury tour
Our 14-day grand tour starts in the north with Tangier and Chefchaouen, then continues to Fes, the Sahara and Marrakech. The blue city can also be added to any tour that includes Fes.
